Body position

The Reverse Butterfly on the cable machine from below offers various variations. The exercise can be performed both standing and sitting. In both versions, the feet are shoulder-width apart. The back remains straight and inclined. The head should be a natural extension of the spine, and to avoid injuries in the lower back, it should maintain a slight arch.

Movement execution

In the standing variation, you fully bend your back forward, creating an approximately 90-degree angle between your legs and upper body. The lower back maintains a slight arch. The arms hang down and are almost fully extended, crossing the cable handles. While exhaling, you pull the arms laterally upward and stop when they are beside your body. Then, you can lower the cables again.

In this version of the exercise, you sit at the end of a weight bench. Both arms hang down, holding the handles in your hands. Your straight back is inclined forward, and you begin moving your arms outward. During this movement, exhale and stop only when the arms are beside your body. When inhaling, slowly return to the starting position while maintaining continuous tension.
