The posterior shoulders can also be trained using an apparatus. A popular variation of this exercise is the so-called Reverse Butterfly on the apparatus. In addition to the posterior deltoid muscle, you also strengthen the trapezius muscle (Musculus trapezius pars transversa) as well as the major and minor rhomboid muscles (Musculus rhomboideus minor et major). The execution of the exercise is straightforward – you just need to be careful not to stretch your head too far forward to prevent neck injuries. More information on Reverse Butterfly on the apparatus, including its execution and potential errors, can be found in the corresponding post.
